When I was a kid Transformers, GI Joe, Star Wars and He-man ruled the universe or at least my bedroom. Now I would go into the store with a game plan...which figure did i need or want right now depending on what story line was going on in my little head. I would get to the figure isle look over the goodies and pic two..thats when my scheme would kick into gear...I would hold two joes and stare at them one in each hand and go hmmmmmmm same with star wars...and sometimes with he-man...i would look perplexed and my parents would say whats wrong...i would give a long pause...and say i m not sure which i want..i like both..at this point after a few minutes of me standing there not sure *wink wink* they would say get both and lets go ! But you know what toy it didn't work with....tranformers..those damn cybertronians cost to damn much ! i wasn't jedi mind tricking my parents into spending $40 bucks on sunstreak and ironhide, no matter how long i stood there. I would take the trash out and get $4 for it, guess what i did , yep right to the store to buy the next joe ! and eventually optimus and his crew became extinct in my room. My point to this rant..is i go into stores now and i see legends clogging the shelf collecting dust...and if there are any mu/mi around its the ones we expect to be there caps, iron man etc..reason parents don't want to pay $20 or more for one damn figure that by time they get home may have already lost a part. As a parent i feel better if i spent $40 on a arm full of figures or a big vehicle that they can use with all there stuff than two damn figures....i don't understand the thought process of hasbro at all. right now GI Joe has invaded my home and is waging war with hydra and cobra..why...cause they are all about the same size and can be used together !!! i think i saw hawkeye flirting with lady j a bout a hour ago...but you all get my point. i so hope that we get some new stuff worth paying for from this con if not....me and my son collecting MU might go the way that Optimus did so many years ago.....
Ha ha I remember picking up Bonecrusher when I was like 9 and there was no way I could get the rest of Devastator... I gave away all of my transformers to my nephew who is like 10 and he just destroyed them last time I went over there, almost all of the MU/Transformers I've given him wind up in a scrap heap with limbs etc. missing... but now I really want that new Devestator. Yeah I think as a parent of a 3 and 5 year old that it's much harder for them to convince me to get a $20+ figure than a $10-$13 figure, so I think that Hasbro is making a big mistake if they don't start throwing us some bones. The Legends are collecting dust here and the BAF thief here has forced my local TRU to put the new figs in a giant lock box that is impossible to steal.
