Yay for Mockingbird! It's about time her modern suit got a figure!

And that Taskmaster is perfect! I guess that costumes exposure over in the ultimate spider-man toon last season really helped. That's definitely my preferred costume for him. I wish these were 4'' scale though.

If you think every X-man has become " un marketable" overnight, and every Avenger becoming black, Muslim, or a woman overnight is "natural" I don't have a response. and as far as Marvel "laughing all the way to the bank... name two chain stores that actually carry physical comic books? the sad truth is they can get away with shitty writing political pandering, kill offs and emasculation of characters because NO ONE READS COMICS ANY MORE! Disney didn't buy Marvel to put out gritty cutting edge writing they make big budget summer movies and figuratively wipe there asses with print.
Toys R us, Target, Walmart.

All 3 of them carry comics now. TRU they're right by the check out lanes even.

Stories don't have to be gritty to be good. But they are exploring more story paths now and are succeeding with higher sales and stronger figure demands because of it. The market is speaking and it's speaking positively. Even longtime fans are still reading to see where the stories go. You've already said yourself before that you don't read them, so they aren't really losing your sales by not pleasing you anyway.

And yeah, I do call it a natural evolution because the world is more than white males. So diversity does actually represent the real world. The new Ms. Marvel is a fantastic and fun character and her reasons for taking on the mantle were very well handled in the comic, especially after Carol changed hers to Captain Marvel instead. Which is also a natural evolution, but it's been skipped over for decades because she was pioneered to be her own character. Now even with the mantle, she still is as she's literally owned it and taken it to better heights with well written stories. The parallels they used to her air force days and the history of that has really pushed the title to great things.

And hell yes I'm happy with the All-New Wolverine, it's about time X-23 got the mantle. They've been building that up since her premiere and hinting at it since then. Her literal first real costume was Wolverine's fang suit. And that was back in 2005.

Clint Barton Hawkeye's new suit as used in the MCU is actually Kate Bishop's original suit but gender bent for his use. The Purple and black arrow suggestive design with the sunglasses was always her costume until they started using it for him with the MCU buildup instead of his circus performer suit.

Falcon and Cap have been partners for decades, if Bucky hadn't been brought back to life, he probably would have worn the suit the first time Cap died. Bucky being the only partner that exceeds the length of time cap and Falcon have worked together.

No one has been emasculated. All those previous stories still happened. Those characters still made impacts and have done amazing things, but a natural story evolution is needed. Characters can't be in their 20s-30s forever. At some point characters have to age. Steve has lost the super soldier serum effects many times in the past so that's not a new story device to placate political correctness. It's an old idea but handled differently. Carol's powers literally came from Captain Marvel. X-23 has been hinted at replacing Wolverine since her premiere. Spider-Gwen is literally a what if story that sold so well and was so talked about the public demanded a solo ongoing of it. Marvel never planned for that one but were happy to oblige.

The market is speaking, and it's saying these changes are successful. Lady Thor is still outselling previous Thor titles. And who she is, actually fits to the universe they built.

Marvel is dabbling in legacies, and it's working. It's going to pave the way for directions to take in the MCU too, because eventually those actors will age out of the roles and it gives marvel more choices. Instead of being forced into reboots or recasting, now they can naturally evolve the characters and change the mantles as the story progresses and the universe ages. Overall this makes a far more coherent and longer living serial media universe to bank on.

As seen, they can still do the older stories or new spins on the characters too. Old Man Logan is getting his own ongoing. They still do period stories set in the different eras they need for whichever characters they want to use. The current universe though in present times is evolving and sales have been consistently better because of it. Even A-Force has sold extremely well because of the wider appeal.

One More Day is a forced retcon, these are actual natural story evolutions with history and foreshadowing that's been decades in the making. The sole one that hasn't had that kind of history push is because she actually does represent real world diversity and makes sense because of that. How they handled that one though is still wonderfully done and makes sense with how the character idolized Carol Danvers. Ms. Marvel has always been an empowering title, and now it still is in a new way while Carol's character is being much better handled and explored as Captain Marvel.

Even Miles Morales has been a fun read, and for me at least, brought me back to reading Ultimate Spider-man after I started getting tired of it. Though I did love the Gwen Carnage story idea they used over there too. It's been more fun though to read how a new character is handling the mantle, and his impact has been pretty widespread and accepted. So much so he's even being added to the normal Marvel Universe now.
