The upcoming wave of Marvel Infinite 3.75" figures features Chameleon, Emma Frost, Northstar, Blue Deadpool, Colossonaut, and Korg. I have procured early accessory-free versions of Chameleon, Emma Frost, and Northstar to review. Now up for review: Emma Frost.

Once upon a time, when Marvel Universe still existed, we were teased with an X-Men Extinction Team 3-pack. Remember this?

Yeah, I thought you might. As a 3-pack, these figures did not get released. Cyclops was a repack for this aborted set, but as of this upcoming wave, both Emma and Colossonaut are seeing release as single-carded Marvel Infinite figures.

We saw her many moons ago, and we waited. We've had plenty of time to think about her. Most of her parts are familiar - the body is simply Dagger with a little more skin showing, high heels instead of flats, white gloved hands instead of flesh, and an X-23 X-Men belt.

And, of course, a cape. Which I did not get with this loose figure.

So what do I see when I open the box? Exactly what I expected. The only new thing here is her head, and we've seen that already. (Oh, and the cape. The one I don't have yet.) Bodywise, this figure has the same strengths and flaws of the MU2 female base figure. Giraffe legs, lovely body that comes apart easily for customizers, crowded hip joint...you know the drill.

Oh, but that head. Nothing brings a smile to a customizer's face like a new versatile head, especially a female one. Even if you use this head only for its intended purpose (sitting on Emma's shoulder's, you pervert), it is excellent. Blueish-white lipstick *and* eyeshadow (I can't recall any other Marvel 3.75" figure with eye shadow!) and a determined, almost angry expression really capture the essence of Emma Frost.

The only thing you could ask for is a translucent diamond form variant which, alas, is not forthcoming as far as we know.

But for customizers, a new head like this one is pure gold. I don't see how anyone could resist using this as a Sue Storm head, for example, or possibly Sharon Carter. It simply looks great on every female body you can think of. Unlike Dagger, Emma's head is not undersized for the MU1 female body. The hair is removable, and if you paint it different colors you can use it in several places in your collection. Glasses-less Baroness, anyone?

I'm gushing now, right? Bottom line, this is exactly what we were expecting, and we were expecting something good. At last, it has been delivered. There's really not much to say other than that.

Yes, that is a Moon Knight placeholder cape. I can hardly wait for the real deal.

Final verdict: finally!
