Hey guys,
Just wanted to show you a new Batman WIP custom I'm currently working on. I stumbled across this Batman design by Dan Mora on Behance and liked the design so much I decided to give it a shot.
I've posted the inspiration by Dan Mora as well as my WIP in its current form.
I'm using the following parts:
1. DC Collectibles Designer Series Jae Lee Batman (removed most of the paint on his lips with nail polish)
2. DC Collectibles Arkham Asylum Batman cape
3. Marvel Legends Grim Reaper body
4. DC Collectibles Bizarro lower legs
5. Legendary Heroes Mad Man lower arms
6. Marvel Legends Winter Soldier shoulder straps
I decided on the Grimm Reaper body because it was slightly taller than the Bucky Cap body. Everytime I used a DC Collectibles batman head on a marvel legends body it just looked weird because those heads are typically from a 7 inch figure. The lower legs had to be replaced because he still looked a bit short. Luckily the DC Collectibles Bizarro fitted like a glove, gave him a bit of extra height, and was also a double jointed knee.
I dremelled all the musculature details on his body and legs. I'm a big fan of the way Jock draws Batman so I decided to sculpt the entire suit with very minimal muscle details and more fabric wrinkles.
I'm using Apoxie sculpt but if you guys have any tips on better sculpting materials that would be helpful. Here he is in all of his unfinished glory! Wish me luck dudes and I'll have him finished in a couple of weeks!
