Yeah, you would also need to cast molds for the parts so that you can make new ones with soft enough plastic that joints can connect together and hands can hold weapons, etc. I have designed weapons using Sketchup and used the Shapeways online 3D printing service, but I do not have enough skill yet to design body parts using sketchup, which isn't really optimized for that type of design work. It's pretty pricey to print a complete figure this way, but I recommend trying out a 3D printing company with a couple parts before shelling out a load of dough to find out that it is too hard to design and print with your own newly purchased 3D printer. Disclaimer: Not all 3D printers are capable of the detail required for 1/18 scale figures and their accessories. I have been researching this for quite some time, and through trial and error have designed and ordered parts using both plastic extrusion and stereolithographic printers. I found that the more common plastic extrusion printers can't provide the detail the 1/18 scale requires, however stereolithographic printers can do the job well, but there aren't nearly as many affordable options.
