Additionally, Taskmaster's knee-pads and shin sculpt also appear to be different with detailed rivets and seams. Finally, the ankles and boots function as the icing on the cake featuring a sturdy and functional looking base....I REALLY hope these parts (along with the arms and shoulder pauldrons) find their way onto a new Doom!

As far as the BAFs are concerned, again I agree with your take that Hasbro has been improving...comparisons with other versions aside, the Hulk Buster was a resounding success. That said, bigger doesn't always mean better. I have many ToyBiz and Hasbro BAF's, most notably Giantman and Apocalypse (the black version, which I actually found the components for in stores). I love them both. They're HUGE. However, they also have their faults; Apocalypse's hands are funky and Giantman is limited exclusively to retro line-ups. I'll trade massive BAF's for more detailed smaller versions with topical/more current renditions (i.e. Thanos, Odin, Rhino, and the pending Absorbing Man). I do agree with many fan criticisms of the small and average size BAF's such as Hit Monkey, Rocket Racoon, Puck, Jubilee, and Green Goblin. I love these figs also, but they could have been worked in as carded offerings.
Ahar, you are right! I saw the thigh guards and instantly connected them to Stryfe, given Hasbro's track record of reusing parts, but Taskmaster looks 100% new sculpt. That's a huge deal, and although this rendition is one that a bare minimum are familiar with (Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon Taskmaster over Udon Taskmaster? Pfft!), he's still managed to win me over with that sculpt.

As long as Hasbro keeps going up and doesn't plummet, I'd like to think we're in good hands. Interest in the brand is strong, most of the series sell well, and (at least in America) they seem to be getting better at distribution.

Now, about that Jamie Madrox box set...

Unless the character is ToyBiz Scarlett Witch/Psylocke/Baron Zemo/Rogue bad, I just don't see the need for some of the re-dos that many people are asking for such as the Punisher, (Hasbro will never top series 4 Frank) Bullseye (a great figure that still holds it's weight, as it's mold became the basis for Legends for years...) or Juggernaut (which has a great Legends figure, and an even better Select figure...) I'd much rather see something new, even if the character is an obscure one, like what we got with many of the HB wave...
I'm with you there. There are some stark examples of Toybiz figures that needed redoing: Jim Lee Rogue, for one, and of course Scarlet Witch (although I'd argue that the new Hasbro one is more of an updated classic look, rather than a straight redo of her younger, original appearance). Apart from those few, let's start asking for Polaris, for Sif and Heimdall, for Monica Rambeau and Swordsman and all of the other fantastic characters that have yet to make to "6.
