She was a captured and ENSLAVED prisoner when Jabba caught her. We did not see it but look at the other slaves Jabba had, and the whole tounge thing, lets face it Jabba probably did some stuff off camera to all the women slaves he had. Leia chose the right opportunity to rise up against her captor and killed him, thus freeing her and the other women from slavery. She should be praised for her actions not condemned for being enslaved in the first place.
