As much as it pains me to admit, I am growing a little bored of the Tamashii flames. That said, your idea of an 'effect' pack is a top flight idea. I was part of a discussion on another board in which we played around with the idea of a 'Deluxe Legends' brand. This concept would be similar to what has been theorized with certain DC Icons figs (i.e. Hal with his ring armor and Flash with his time-treadmill). However, I like your idea much better because it provides collectors with a choice. If you just want the fig at the standard rate, you can buy it without the baked in price increase for the extra effects.

Funny you should mention this idea while commenting on my pics featuring Gothitropolis' Hrabban. I purchased the bone head and wings (along with an extra head, helmet, and sword not shown in my photos) as an add-on pack for the line. The accessories add a great deal to an already stellar toy, but they are completely optional and one can mix and match however they choose. The same strategy could easily be used with ML ranging from effects to all sorts of other accessories.
I must agree mate. I love the Tamashii effects, but you can only use the three flame effects so much before they start to feel a trife stale, and since they're chiefly an anime-based figure line the likelihood of anything superheroic cropping up is unlikely. Hasbro could make an absolute bucketload from this gap in the market!

While we're on this subject, let us throw in bases, too. I can understand that money doesn't allow Hasbro to give us immaculate bases akin to the Toybiz ones of old (considering we don't even get that amount of detail on the figures themselves!), so why not create optional bases to buy in packs? Surely they've realised their key demographic are of the adult, money-possessing collector variety, so why not cater to us in that regard?

Man, her current X-Force design would be a killer figure. Si Spurrier wrote a fantastic Sarah without encumbering her with two decades' worth of history. I say yes to both classic and Marvel Now versions!
