Star Wars has usually merely lurked on the periphery of my geekdom and toy hobby. In the late '80s my 7-11 briefly, unexpectedly sold bootleg vintage figures, and I was giddy about those for a while, and I got ever so slightly caught up in the excitement of the Power of the Force series in the mid-'90s, but mostly I've only ever used Star Wars toys as a supply of monsters and parts and accessories for my G.I. Joes and hobbits and whatnot.

However, between The Force Awakens (which isn't represented in my collection... yet) and, more so, Clone Wars, which I finally started watching last month (I'm at the start of the fifth season; no spoilers, please!), there has been a shift. A disturbance in the Force, if you will. Suddenly, I'm pillaging my toy collection for monsters and parts and accessories I can use with my Star Wars figures.

Fancies pass quickly in my toy hobby, so who knows how long this Star Wars phase will last?
