Yeah, there are some gangsta rappers who I've enjoyed. I was young and hadn't grasped the inherent danger that this type of rap represented to the community and youthful impressionable minds. The gangta rappers I listened to tended to be on the East Coast....Kool G Rap, Jadakiss, Styles P, Black Moon, Smif n Wessun (couple of songs), Mobb Deep. Eventually, I moved on...as you get older it becomes harder to reconcile your support of music that glorifies lifestyles/attitudes you don't agree with and work to combat. The era of music that Dark and I were referring to had many more voices than are enjoyed today...it's a shame. Like Dark said, there was more fun to be had and variety.

This here is the reason why I have basically moved onto Tech N9ne. He's still "Gangsta Rap" but his music doesn't glorify the crap that the old stuff does... he's now technically considered "Horrorcore" his music is more of a scary/horror movie rather than gangsta rap. He's got plenty of lyrics and even has stuff that's more... touching? or should I say meaningful but in the style of gangsta rap. Anyways, I've been a fan of Old school Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Notorious B.I.G., Eminem, Twista, Tech N9ne, and Hopsin, almost all of is Mid-West rap. I just couldn't let this conversation go on without mentioning my preference..
