My main concern with him when I first saw pictures was the black wash over the silver parts, but upon getting the figure in hand, it's a lot more subtle and looks better in person. The head sculpt is a really good representation of Temuera Morrison, and he has some awesome articulation in his arms to make up for the lack of double jointed elbows that allows him to strike some ridiculously cool poses.

Most of Jango's EU stuff, I've only seen or read about through certain novels, but one of the cooler pieces of his history comes from the Darth Plagueis novel, where it tells of how Jango was selected to be the clone template by Dooku and Sifo Dyas. Apparently, while Dooku was still a part of the jedi order, he was sent along with his apprentice Komari Vosa to put down Fett and a group of Mandalorians who had been wrongfully accused by Death Watch as having been assassinating political activists and civilians. The Jedi were able to overwhelm the other Mandalorians, but Jango made a stand, and using his bare hands, was able to kill 6 jedi as they tried to subdue him. Dooku was so impressed by what he saw in Jango, that Jango ended up becoming his first contact when Dooku later put a contract out on his former padawan, who had turned to the dark side and became a crime lord. Fett was able to once again defeat the former jedi, signifying to Dooku that he indeed had the his man when it came to choosing the perfect clone template.
Wow, I really really need to pick up the Darth Plagueis novel, lol !

The massacre of Mandalorians by the Jedi was mentioned in the "Boba Fett: Open Season" mini-series, but such an abbreviated account of that battle was given, that I had hoped that it had been expanded upon further in other EU comics and/or novels, so I'm pretty excited to hear that it was mentioned in "Darth Plagueis" !

I think I may have to re-read "Open Seasons" again soon, to see if I like it any better than I did when I first read it. Honestly, I had high hopes that that mini-series would convert me to a Jango Fett fan, but I just wasn't impressed by it.
IMO, four issues weren't nearly enough to tell the story that the writer wanted to tell, and it just seemed both rushed and incomplete.
I've always had the impression that Lucasfilm and Dark Horse felt that it was imperative to give us Jango Fett's origin story as soon as possible, especially since it was necessary in reconciling Boba Fett's original origin with his new one, but "Open Seasons" comes off as if Lucas and DH were so over-eager and/or impatient to give us the story, that they didn't mind if the story was told well or not.
