Just found a new Toys R Us Express store in my area. I actually saw the store earlier this week but they were still setting up. The employees told me to come back on Friday when they would be opening. I passed by today and sure enough they were open for business.
Toyark mod MegaPrime33 had reported last year that
Toys R Us had bought out KB toys.
In the same thread, Autobot_Goldbug posted information regarding Toys R Us' plans to open smaller boutique stores in malls to fill the gap left by the closing of KB.
Well, it looks like these stores are now starting to open. It basically is the same size and layout as KB. One thing of note is that the prices are the same as those at regular TRU stores. I remember KB charging a slight premium over other toy stores, but more than made up for that with the excellent clearance deals. The store was indeed stocked with the latest waves of the most popular lines, including all the newest Star Wars Clone Wars, Legacy and Vintage figures, DCUC and all the DCUC 2-packs, and all The Dark Knight Movie Masters. GI Joe POC was missing, but some of the ROC vehicles were present. I only checked out the boy's section, but it appeared that there was a healthy selection of girls and infant's products as well.
Nice to know that there is another place to hit up when out on the hunt. For anyone living in the Miami, FL area, the store is located in the shopping center off of Flagler and 82nd Ave, right next store to Michael's.
