Because those things add more parts to the figure, which in turn increases the cost to produce.
Even STar Wars Black and Marvel Legends have seen their articulation modified/reduced due to cost concerns.

I'm one to defend a company when they make logical decisions or show signs of improvement.
To me, the BvS core movie line is ASTONISHING in regards to how Mattel has traditionally handled a Batman line (and Unlimited has shown significant strides as well). I mean, the first wave had FOUR distinct characters, not to mention a LexBot and probably a Doomsday as well.
That's a FAR cry from how TDKR was handled, where Catwoman didn't even get a 4" figure, or TDK where characters not Batman or Joker were limited to the poorly distributed tail end of line.
And that's not even addressing the articulation, which will still not super articulated (and you're not apt to get that for $10), it's still a solid range of joints for a 6" $10 action figure.
Of course, we'll see these steps forward this year and another year or two at best, then Mattel will go back to their same old shenanigans
