probably a coincidence, but I get the feeling Vonner would have pushed for x-men more than the current crowd. at the very least we'd have gotten a less shitty Bishop figure.
I was thinking the same thing the other day, the x-men were created as an aligory for minoeiries during the civil rights movement. Professor x being MLK, and magneto Malcom x, but now, with all the devicive.crap going on today that reads just like a 90's x men comic the X men get buryied in toys, and all other media. Killing the original wolverine off was, I believe the end of the x-men, I likes the original wolverine, and othe version is just not the same. It's the same reason I don't bother following DC for long periods of time, lack of continuity if the whole story reboots every year or two then nothing really matters so I don't get attached to the characters in a reboot. I remembering hearing on the world news that marvel was killing Peter Parker off perminatly! Then they slain in there ultimate imprint. I was relieved because he wasn't the real Pete. And this mashing up of the universes and time lines is just insane, it ruins all previous continuity for old readers, and prevents writers from telling large stories that don't interact in separate universes.
