It was the '80s though so experimenting with new methods and indirectly criticizing the government was to be expected from writers like Frank Miller. Regardless of liking the comic or not though the animated film deserves some recognition for being extremely faithful to its source material and Peter Weller was a freaking cool sounding old Batman.

Robocop was a great batman. The animated movie is one of those movies that gets better each time you watch it. My son watches it like once a week and every time I see it it seems like I catch something that I missed before.
