Remember that Hasbro's main base audience are kids and not the adults who also buy toys. When Hasbro goes to the drawing board they don't have people old enough to smoke and drink with man-caves full of action figures set as their top priority, they're probably thinking about the kids and teens who actually want to play with their product and that's who they're selling it to.

A $50 figure of this size isn't aimed at kids. They have plenty of Star Wars 18-24" Star Wars figures for half the price of this one with less articulation and detail.
