Like others have mentioned there isn't really a war going on between the two scales.

But to answer your question, as someone who absolutely loves the 3.75" scale, go with the 6" stuff. I'll always love this scale but right now all of the 3.75" stuff have been kicked to the side by Mattel and Hasbro in favor of the 6" stuff. If you really want to get some quality figures just go the 6" route.

I still love the 3.75" stuff more than anything, though. Hasbro has recently started to breathe some life into the scale in terms of Marvel figures for the first time in a while, though.
