^^ Epic haul Nitelife!

I debated on waiting for these a little while longer, but since most of my pre-orders got delayed a bit, I decided to have them sent and they arrived today...

Some quick thoughts on each...
  1. Shadowcat/Kitty Pryde - Wow...her portrait is gorgeous. I would have never thought, but she's right up there in the top 5 most beautiful Marvel Legends. Only disappointment I could find is that I was really hoping her head would fit on the Ultimate Spider-Woman body for an unmasked portrait. Back to the drawing board.

You can also fit the Onslaught Magneto head on the Jubilee wave Magneto figure, which is kind of cool if you want a different look for the character. Also, Rogue's ungloved and gloved hands fit perfectly on Shadowcat and vice versa, allowing you some options to change it up a bit if you don't want a Rogue with two fists all the time.

  2. Deadpool - I'm gonna draw a lot of hate...but there was A LOT of QC issues with mine, including a stuck elbow, fuzzy paint and spotty paints, and warped weapons. The sword sheathes are straight, while the swords are curved, making them tougher than they should be to fit in them, not to mention warps the natural shape of the mold. The unmasked head is also very difficult to get on, I'm going to have to dremel it so it fits easier. Thankfully I was able to get that elbow unstuck, but not after a half an hour with a hair dryer.

  3. Wolverine - Another one I'm going to draw hate on, but mine was also loaded with QC issues. I really hate how they did the clawed hands, and my claws were badly warped in the box. They also feel cheap and fragile compared to past releases. I would have rather they molded them to the hands instead of making them removeable. It kinda defeats the purpose of the swap hands. Speaking of which, the right hand fits very loose for some reason, which was something I saw in a couple of YouTube reviews, so it's an issue running across the entire line.

  4. Cable - Wow...here's a character I'm not a fan of, and wasn't expecting much out of, but he blew me away. He's pretty damn impressive in hand. His robot arm totally has me thinking a Hasbro Colossus might be on the way soon. Unfortunately, Deadpool's rail gun doesn't work too well with him, as his hands are too big. He kinda looks like Dolph Lundgren as well, which makes me wonder if that's a nod to the movie, (as well as to the rumor Dolph might actually land the role in the Deadpool sequel...)

  5. Phoenix - Another home run...although I really feel she would have been better served with some fire effects or the firebird accessory. The hair feels a bit too big, and it kinda gives the appearance that she's sporting a mullet...but otherwise, she looks great. Mine didn't have too much marbelization in the gold parts. Also...boo these heels already Hasbro. Do away with them.

  6. Iceman - Really neat figure. He's a little wobbly in hand like the clear Vision was, but he's still well done. Havok's blast effects work well with him (and Blizzard as well...just saying.) Be very careful with his thigh swivels however. If they feel stuck, DO NOT FORCE IT...get a hairdryer and soften that up, because it's a harder type of plastic than most Legends figures, and if it cracks, YOU WILL notice it.

  7. Havok - I don't know what it is...everyone keeps saying it's the weak figure of the bunch, but I keep coming back to it. I'm not familiar with this costume, but I really dig it, and the effects are pretty sweet, with several different colors to them. They are also made of a softer plastic than Scarlet Witch's or Dr. Strange's, making them easier to fit on and less prone to stress or breakage. Also, I hope this wave does come out and languish for a bit on the shelf, because Havok is PERFECT for custom fodder, being that the entire figure is black (requiring very little to prime) and sits on the Bucky Cap mold.

  8. Rogue - I remember my mom driving me from KayBee to KayBee when I was a kid, trying to track down the original ToyBiz version, until we finally found her. I was happy with it, but what did I know, I was a kid. Then came the Toybiz release several years later. The horrid face on that figure (along with my disappointment) remained burned into my memory until she arrived today. Quite simply, this is the figure I've waited 20 years for. Thank you Hasbro.

Rogue's head also fits on the Shadowcat body, and looks pretty good on it. Now I just need to get my hands on an extra Silk figure so I can start my next custom project...

  9. Juggernaut - So much controversy over this figure, and I really cannot understand why. If you like the Select Version, get the Select Version. If you like the ToyBiz version, then stick with that. As for this version, he's the best version Hasbro has given us to date, and honestly, the color variations in the armor don't bother me like everyone else. He's big and beefy, without looking like he just stepped out of Marvel vs Capcom 2. He also looks much better in hand than he does in photos online. I dig him...
