This happen to me with Grim Reaper, Iron Fist (BM's fault),etc and most recently Hobgoblin of the new Spider-Man wave. I thought he looked OK..and would add him to my collection anyway..but after opening it and (am i allowed to say playing with it..ha) posing it and swapping the heads.. I REALLY LIKE THIS FIGURE....

You're right DTL, he looks very nice! I wasn't hugely fussed about the character, but now...
