Well, it's also a matter of trying to keep ahead of the curve and grow. The new MGS spin-off looks fun and a nice break from the MGS world to try something new, but it's definitely not a normal MGS title.

Creatively, teams like to do something new or different when they've been immersed in a heavy project for long durations. Look at Gainix themselves, and they're push to do FLCL after evangelion because they needed something completely wacky to do after all the drama and headaches that was the first Evangelion series. So I'd say give them time to adjust and do some different things before they dive headfirst into more military heavy societal commentary pieces that the MGS & R series are massive mouthpieces for. Sometimes you gotta do something completely different before you jump right back in other stuff. Even Kojima himself wanted a break from normal MGS to do stuff that's different.

So let's give Konami some breathing room to find their footing. While Kojipro has been handling heavy MGS, the other departments at konami were still heavily immersed in the other areas of it too. Plus I'm kind of curious how the new MG might turn out, but I expect something extremely different after. (Plus still hope they might come back and outsource Silent Hill to Kojima's new company after they do some other projects first.)

Though, that's even more reason to maybe have some fun with a castlevania title, or try something completely new too.

With the success of Minecraft and similar indie games. I kind of wonder how long it'll be before Harvest Moon comes back the forefront in a heavy way. Already surprised they haven't merged it with animal crossing and done a collectible line for both combined.

Hmm. No clue then. Not sure what the market strength is on the 8-bit color scheme ones are anyway.
