Edit: Nice find, DTL! How are you finding the Hawkeye and Black Widow figures? Those are the only two I'd be interesting in, but they look pretty nice. Is the plastic good quality?

The constant changing is another issue....it seems ever since that giant age of apocalypse everything is always retconning every time ya turn around. And series only go to like issue 20 or 30 as opposed to the they ran into the triple digits. It just feels like nothing is being made for longevity that its just a crash n burn scenario...ie bilk it for all its worth then dump it, retcon it and slap a new coat of paint over a rusty body to make it seem new.

I guess im just old and cynnical wanting new original stuff ( to whatever particular company ) instead of just draping a cover over an old couch and calling it new.
Ah yes, I also have a major problem with revamping series every twenty issues! If anything don't all the different volumes make it harder to keep track of characters? All they need is the Marvel rebranding logo (such as "All-New Marvel Now #1") on the cover, but keep the numbering so that we know it's still that series. Perhaps we are entering the snapchat of comic books? Snippets of stories here and there..

I'll second that idea by saying another problem is writers who only go to the Big Two to make a name for themselves, then promptly leave to make their own comics. It smells less like interest in characters, and more like self promotion. Perhaps that's why I like Jason Aaron on Thor? He's been there 4 years and isn't showing any signs of leaving.

I do accept the Phoenix as a legacy. There's been a long history of characters that were hosts, or were familiar with other hosts of the Phoenix Force entity: Necron, Krovus, Rachel, Cyclops, etc.
Thank you BM! Yes sorry the picture might not be too clear. The caption I posted it with initially was, “This is Charles Xavier’s school… Why is it named after me now?”
So yes it is teen Jean witnessing her own legacy, from the All-New X-Men title. The premise was probably one of Bendis' best ideas with wonderful potential, but the kids should have gone back to the past by now, lest they become annoying to readers.

That's why I encouraged that Marvel be more courageous with new titles. These books are getting cancelled after ten issues. The first volume of Rom ran for 75 issues, and Nova's first volume ran for 21. More time needs to be invested for these characters to get on their feet and find their stride.

I think Marvel should bring back titles like Marvel Team-up and Marvel Two In One. Comics that are/were anchored by popular heroes (Spider Man -MTU and Thing - MTIO), yet served to introduce new characters to readers. Those two titles exposed me to a wider Marvel Universe; characters and concepts like Deatlok, Quasar, Jack of Hearts, Black Goliath, Aquarius and Project Pegasus. They have to get out of their comfort zone because abusing Legacy is only going to get them but so far...
I believe Spider-Woman also launched through MTU! One character they are adamant at sticking with is Carol Danvers, for sure. Her being promoted to Cappy M is one of my favourite ideas this decade (and imo the costume is much cooler than any of her previous ones), but man, her series does not sell well. Marvel have faith in her, though, as they do the Inhumans, so we shall see...

Though yes, if a tremendously popular (or once popular should I say) character like Gambit can't keep his own series afloat, you know there's poor demand. They even put Mark Waid and Chris Samnee on Black Widow with a brilliant opening arc, and no-one's paying attention to that, either. Everybody is burned out, it seems.

Also, I wouldn't mind seeing a super set up of Enchantress versus Thor or Doctor Strange, mate. Just saying.....
