Like Liefeld, Bengus had some strange illustrations of Venom for the promotional material, but what I meant by that was I was actually expecting the final result of the figure to be closer to the in game sprites (which were quite better proportionately, in terms of fighting game sprites) than those actual pieces of art. The ridiculously huge upper torso and arms just kill this look for me. How does he wipe his butt?

The Venom look I've always preferred was either Bagley,Cho or Dotson (from their brief work on Venom from Marvel Knights Spiderman,) which was always sleek, lean, and muscular (although Bagley would sometimes push this envelope.) Once artists started taking liberties with him in his various miniseries and started making him Hulk sized, it killed that aesthetic for me. He just seemed less menacing looking at that point (and even less like Spider-Man's antithesis) and more like a giant black blob of goo and teeth.
