Or better yet make a spideman 2099 movie with his originsl costume...not that gaudy wreck that hes sporting now.
Thing is, he's being introduced to a new audience (yes, I know ASM wasn't that long ago, but in terms of making movies, it might as well have been a lifetime ago), so you want to introduce him at an early enough point to get invested in him as a character and watch him grow up, watch his trials and tribulations. Besides, not only are they foregoing the overdone origin story, but for the first time, we're actually getting a Spidey who's actually young enough for it all to be realistic (because who can forget the almost-30 Tobey Maguire playing a high school student?). You give the younger fans someone they can relate to better, because he's close to their age, while also making it believable that this kid will be having the problems that Peter had faced in his early superhero career and social life.

Being totally honest with you, though, I still wish they'd just gone for Miles in the first place. I'm glad for all the changes here, but I am so friggin' done with Peter as a character. He bores the crap out of me. I find pretty much every other Spider to be more interesting than him. Throwing Miles in as the lead Spidey in the MCU would have been a risky gamble, but I think he would have made a better impression, and have a wider appeal - after all, even with the changes made to update him, Peter's still a product of the 1960s, when academically-inclined, glasses-wearing "nerds" were called "Poindexter" and stuffed into lockers by football players.
