I have been a big fan of Hulk since back in the day with all his different personality changes, from savage, to mr fix-it, to professor hulk, to the just recent from about 2 years ago Doc Green storyline. I believe it was called Omega Hulk. Anyways the minute he disappeared and all of a sudden we have "totally awesome hulk". I stopped buying....
To be fair i believe it's good even great for changes in comics, whether its the characters appearance, personal life etc. However turning with gender, sexual orientation, or even ethnicity and still keeping the classic heroes names not only is it a complete cluster you know to continuity, it's a slap in the face even an insult to the collectors who've been collecting forever....
If you read this past batman story arc Superheavy, batman was gone for almost 6 months, jim gordon took his place. The story was interesting, kept people on their toes but at the end of it, bruce wayne came back reclaimed the mantle and saved the day. Thats was great, abit of character change, and at the end the iconic hero returned. This is not the same with a plethora of marvel titles. They're just keeping everything this way..
