Yeah I got two of these and BOTH broke eventually. All you need to o is nudge the door a bit and it WILL break. Not opening it won't save it.

That aside I don't think the issue is the single hinge design. I thought it was as well, but after mine broke, I made new replacement hinges out of softer plastic taken from some broken plasma caster arms from some NECA AVP figures and they work great! Nice and flexible and resilient. If NECA molds these hinge pieces out of softer plastic like what the gauntlet is molded out of, I think the figure wouldn't have this issue.
