I'll always prefer the ANH look over the other variations. The inner robe being over the armor looks elegant and gives it that subtle samurai look.

As far as gloves, they got it right in ANH-horizontal stitching-never got why they changed it in the first place.His entire suit has the vertical lining so the gloves being vertical as well is redundant. For a visual design, you typically want areas of contrast so not sure what the thinking was for that.
