What's going on? Is it a sign of the times, that so many shows and stories are pale substitutes or rehashes of what has come before?
The 2009 movie was brilliant and was released to overwhelming positive reception from fans and critics alike. I dragged my dad to the movie, and he was grumbling about it since he was a fan of the original. He came out loving it. It wasn't a parody....it was a love letter to the original series while creating a new beginning. You're the first person I've heard speak ill of it.
