They don't make their molds based on the the ability to re-use them down the line. Most of their figures feature unique molding that goes unused again unless they redistribute it. Machiko is such a frequently requested/demanded character that they can probably sell the quantity they want to without worrying about making their money back later by re-using parts for other things. The only figures they really re-use parts on are the predators and aliens because either it's the easiest and fastest way to get new figures out or because by design they have to re-use parts.
