I knew where you were coming from after reading your first post. It has nothing to do with being "politically correct", you were pointing out what I've been saying. Look at the MCU figures from 2017 from GOTG: Vol 2, to Homecoming, to Man-Thing, to the upcoming Ragnarok. Hasbro made the best the best versions of MCU figures that I've ever seen in one year. The character selection was almost flawless. Even if they did not release 3-4 MCU versions of the Black Panther and his supporting cast, they could have done comic versions and personally I would've been okay with that.

It doesn't matter whether or not the Legends line is specifically earmarked as a vehicle for the MCU or canon characters; Marvel/Disney makes the majority of their profits (by a wide margin) off of the films and they would be fools not capitalize on that.

Most regulars here are familiar with my CONSTANTLY stated preference for canon figures. When forced to buy MCU figs for any BAF I might want, I generally end up selling them off shortly after purchase. Months ago, I even sold my MCU Hulk Buster Baf because I determined I had no use for it. I only mention this to disabuse you of the notion that I like MCU figs, I obviously don't care for them. Despite my indifference to the figs, I understand their strategic value in supporting the efforts of the 'real' money maker - the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As a long term gamer - my first systems were the 2600 followed by the Sega Master system...I had a friend that actually owned Pong - I've learned that serving the 'hardcore' fan isn't a winning business proposition. There aren't enough of we hardcore anythings; the profit margin is actually in the causal fan whose numbers dwarf ours. In the case of toys, the casual fans are children exposed to the MCU, parents who're catering to the wants of their children, and the marginally aware semi-fan who has to look up any character outside of the most familiar mainstays. The hook for the casual fan is the MCU and ANYTHING that feeds back into that revenue stream is gravy to Marvel/Disney. Get over it, MCU figs are here to stay. Hell, we're lucky they even provide us with comic canon figs given that the comics are essentially a fiscal afterthought when you directly compare the dollars generated.
I honestly think you have more common sense than anyone I've ever come across on a forum. You hit that right on the mother loving money. Keep dropping that knowledge and let them know.

Marvel Legends is for both the movies and comics, but you'd have to delusional to convince yourself that the movies aren't the primary focus of the line as far as marketing and branding goes.

And those other lines target entirely different markets from Hasbro due to price point and availability. At the end of the day, if you're a casual fan of the Marvel movies (i.e., most people), you're not going to drop $60+ to import an SHF, drop $80 on a Mezco, or, even more laughably, $250+ on a Hot Toys. The type of market Hasbro tries to reach are the people that casually stroll into a Wal-Mart, go "Oh look, it's Thor from that kickass movie!" and pick it up off the shelves because it's only $20 and it looks cool.

The biggest wave of pegwarmers that we ever got was the Allfather Wave, and that was nothing but comic characters, and well-known comic book characters at that.
Bingo!!!! Remember in 2014 when Hasbro said the movies would now help push The Marvel Legends waves? It started with The Winter Soldier, and no matter how many Spider-Man waves they release, they are directly tied into a film (Spider-Man 2, and Homecoming).
