They made the characters in Spider-Man Homecoming feel like real people, at a real high school. What more could you ask for?

They could easily change Liz's last name or maybe her mom will marry someone with the last name of Allen. Also, the only thing Flash needs to do is become Spider-Man's biggest fan while picking on Peter.

Why? The 70s and 80s had better story telling, better characters, and designs that weren't overly convoluted.
