i get hollylame changes crap for this forced diversity thing and some characters are kinor enough to be changed and not thought twice on but Domino is fairly well known and its a shame we cant see her in the look most people who will see the film and know the character will recignize her in.

I understood where you were coming from, Nite. I don't think you meant any harm in what you wrote, but it still elicited a response from me. What can I say, I'm human. Without providing a dissertation on race and American history, know that 'skin-bleaching' and 'skin-lightening' is a real phenomenon within black culture and a byproduct of internalized racism. Now, I don't expect you to know that, many people within my own pan-African culture aren't entirely aware of how pervasive the problem is, but your unfortunate choice of words functioned as a trigger...at least for me. The matter was compounded by the fact that the woman is actually 'light-skinned,' in 'black' parlance. The idea that she should be fairer, even in light of the role she's playing, was an affront. Again, I know you didn't mean it in that way, but now you have an insight that you may not have had before (don't rely on my word for it, google 'skin-lightening and the black community' you'll find that it's an issue outside of black American communities also).

Additionally, my larger point was that hating on her is useless. It's the casting director and, more importantly, the director that decided on Domino's portrayal. Blast them...
