The Universe is expanding.... (pics to follow in next post)

Now that my initial SHIELD additions are done I went back to what was going to be the last batch with more lesser known/obscure characters. I finally bought the Avengers Assemble Black Widow. Really good figure. I can see why so many people use her head. I need to get another to make a Colleen Wing. In comic news I've been re-reading scans of X-Men issues starting right after the Giant Size issue. I've gotten up through the early Phoenix issues and stopped heading into the Hellfire Club issues. Going back through these classic issues inspired a few of the characters in this batch. I'll see who else turns up as I get through more of these issues. Mystique is there because I finally got an extra pair of female grip hands so I put those on her. Now she can finally hold firearms. Quake is there because I got a new head for her. Still not the short Hill style haircut, but I don't like that look anyway. This style I'm ok with. Now just need to finish her Caterpillars team. So, anyway, onto the rest...

Tempest - I decided to knock out a couple more Imperial Guardsmen with this batch. I started with Tempest who came out really well. Only had to sculpt the hair which took way too long. I had to redo it at least three times to get the look to come out. The paint job was actually the easiest part and I finished that way before I got around to making his head. All in all I'm more than satisfied with the results and he makes a great addition to the Guard.

Chemistro - I first saw Chemistro in an Acts of Vengeance issue of Iron Man where he turned the suit into lead. Acts was the first big arc that I actively went out of my way to try and get every issue of. I failed miserably but it was a valiant attempt. Other than his paint job the only work Chemistro required was a very slight head mod. Added the belt and pistol from a Kree figure and he's ready to join the Masters of Evil gathered on the shelf. I thought about making him another pair of arms with the wrist/hand blasters, but decided against it for now. I'll make them at a later point. Right now I just wanted to go with his more traditional look. Almost have the full cast of the EMH Masters of Evil. Still have a couple left to go.

Moses Magnum - Uncanny X-Men 118 is one of the first comics I had as a kid. I literally haven't read this issue in decades, so I was pleasantly surprised to run across this issue during my X-Men re-reads since it brought back some good memories and reintroduced Moses Magnum. Moses Magnum I actually forgot about as a character, but after stumbling on him again I knew I had to make a figure of this guy. Work wise he was very easy to complete since he's mostly just a whole lot of white paint. The collar was a bit of an annoyance and I had to sculpt a goatee onto the Marauder head that I used, but he came out well. Now I've got him complete and added to the evil Mutant shelves. To be honest I'm not even sure that he's a mutant but since I first saw him fighting the X-men and haven't seen him since, that's where he goes. For some reason he looks dirty in the pic, he's not. I just need a new camera. The one I have is over 10 years old. That's ancient for a digital camera.

The Fly - A character I know nothing about, I only decided to make The Fly after running across art of him fighting Spider-Man. That spurned me to look into the character further. I didn't read up on the character, so I only know him from the artwork. To go along with his wings he needed some light sculpt work. Speaking of the wings, they are fully functional. I took the wings from Wasp and fit them to his back and they retain the full range of motion. I have a few more old Spidey villains that I want to get made soon and a whole slew more to get to at a later date.

Hobgoblin - Hobgoblin took a bit of work to get his look right. Had to fill in the front and back of the torso to get it even then repaint the entire deal. I also had to find something suitable for the antennas (a paperclip just wasn't going to work this time, too thick) and then had to sculpt on his pointy ears. I swapped out the arms and legs as well using Ant-Man's. I'm a little over halfway thru my Imperial Guard goal. Another 6 or 7 to go and I can set that team aside for a good while before making any more.

Black Tom Cassidy - Black Tom is another classic X-Men bad guy. After reading through his issues with the Juggernaut during the run up to the Phoenix Saga I wanted to get him in figure form so I could stand him next to his classic partner the Juggernaut on the shelf. I used another Marauder head but added a lot more sculpt to this one to get Tom's scraggly haired look. The flesh tones are a bit off in the picture, but I've fixed them up since then. I should have just repainted the head entirely but I didn't feel like it. The matching paint jobs are good enough for now. Attaching his collar was a chore and took way too much effort. His belt design is ridiculous as well and was aggravating to paint. I'm glad he's done because this is a figure that should have been all kinds of simple but ended up as anything but.

White Tiger - You would think the figures only painted in white would have been the easiest, but they took a bit longer than normal since, as with painting yellow, it takes a few more coats than normal to get full and even coverage. I sculpted the necklace and lower jaw for the head. The necklace is an added accessory that is removable. I didn't want it fixed to the chest incase I ever want him in an action pose. Wanted it to be able to shift with his "motion". So now I have one of the two White Tigers that I intend to make. There's another with a trench coat look, but I have no plans to make that guy at this point. The female White Tiger will be next, though I'm still debating which of her looks to make.

Rigellian Recorder - I've had the art piece for the Rigellian Recorder for a while now. I looked it up after someone asked me if I was going to make one and I remarked that I had no clue what a "Rigellian Recorder" was. I finally got a chance to knock this character off the list. There was not much to making this one. Other than gluing down the collar I only had to do his paint job which came together very quickly. Other than Chemistro this guy took the least amount of time to complete in this batch. I still don't know a lot about the Recorders. I read a little bit online but there wasn't much. I know that the Rigellians made a lot of the Recorders (4 or 5 hundred) to cover the galaxy, but, I think I'm going to be good with just the one added to my cosmic collection.
