The fact remains that the digital painting doesn't stand up under close inspection like the hand-painted process does. That's a valid criticism, especially for those of us who like to our photograph figures as well.

That pic looks lower-res overall than it you were holding it in-hand. Also, in that shot the eyes still look soft.
