(I say this even and I concede 3.75" in favor of 4".) The larger the figure, the more likely it is to withstand play damage and the easier it is to apply paint correctly (6" has an advantage here).

However, the new bodies for Marvel Infinite and Marvel Legends 4" have been even larger than before. And I feel it in the line's best interest to stay closer to the other most popular 4" line, Star Wars and GIJoe. Not only for the ability for kids to play with them together, but Hasbro would act in its own best interest if it could keep the lines close in scale, share plans on body types, and share tooling when appropriate, e.g. Destro/Professor X, Beachhead(?)/Nick Fury, or Helix/Domino (didn't happen).

When one line is out of scale compared to the others, sharing resources like this throws the line out of whack. Futhermore, they could plan on Team-Up packs with SHIELD/Joe, Cobra/HYDRA (maybe that hits too close to home and steps on their IDW universe), or Rebels/Guardians. If it could happen, it would be good cross-pollination for both lines.

Base Bodies
Now I think we could talk about what tooling that already exists should be used for re-launch. Taking them one at a time, let's start with most everyone's favorite, Jim Lee Cyke/2nd Daredevil body. It was a home run when it came out and still is one of the best ever 4" figures. I would say its on the tall side of the scale and only should be used for the 6'2"+ characters. But definitely keep it. Hopefully the tooling has plenty more life left. and it can easily be converted to a 5'10" range character with tooling for slightly shorter thighs, boots, and less muscular biceps and chest.

Anyone have any thoughts on the this as the main body for the relaunch? I know we've seen a lot of it. Sick of it yet?
Totally agree with everything you said-
As to base bodies, we need a bit of variaty and that's easily done by making a couple of new upper and lower legs- particularly for the misproportioned X-23 body!

The big issue I have with the notion of a relaunch is that it's likely to fail with many MU collectors because we won't buy an 11th Spidey, Wolverine and Cap figure.
Those have been done to death and even though they pegwarmed pretty hard, Hasbro will be obliged to make new versions fir the new line.

What we need is waves of maybe four obvious seller's (your Deadpools and such) and two "I can't believe they made that!" characters like we got in the Vonner days.
That would keep the line fresh for us loyal veteran collectors and offer favorites to new collectors that missed out the first time.
