Sadly, that was not the case.
Honestly I can see both points. From an engineering stand point on paper NECA's Pacific Rim Jaeger offerings should have been top notch and for me (save for Romeo Blue and the Original Striker Eureka and Anteverse Gypsy Danger) I've had no problems with the jaegers, but I will say that robot-like figures from NECA are possibly over-engineered and at the price point they were trying to achieve they just couldn't get the quality control up to snuff. I was able to avoid a lot of the problems with Ultimate Gypsy Danger and Tacit Ronin by heating up all the problem areas I heard from other collectors, taking the figure apart where necessary and putting it back together again.

I have their Portal figures and while Atlas and Peabody look great the execution of the engineering left much to be desired what with all the joints that snapped or were randomly glued together for no apparent reason which eliminated necessary articulation.

On the other hand their Kaijus are always on point. I think it shows that they really excell in their creature sculpts/ human figures, but they are weaker when it comes to more mechanically involved sculpts. Not knocking NECA by any means, but I can understand where some have been frustrated. If nothing else this will be a great opportunity for Diamond Select to rise to the occasion and improve on what NECA has accomplished.
