The sculpts are still accurate to the source on the bandai stuff, which to me makes the dst ones a no go. They clearly didn't use the CG sources directly or they just implemented the joints wrong, but gypsy avenger's hips look horribly wide. Also, like the neca ones, the sculpts look lumpy and like some old mcfarlane mechs -- like someone sculpted them traditionally and never sanded down the finish. Robot damashiis are very durable, and as the joints look simplified from usual releases I have a feeling they'll be even more durable. The paint looks sloppy on the dsts, too, looks like the size of a terminator as drybrushing at larger scales for scratches doesn't work. But the final products will look even worse. I'll admit the kaiju being vinyl toys in bandai's line is disappointing, so I can see that as a benefit. But the dst jaegers to me still seem to only have the benefit of size, which, again, is preference and is objectoively worse in terms of weight distribution.

But eithet way I guess I get it more now, forgot people preferred messier paintapps if it offered more weathering than clean ones without any.
