Yes, I would much rather they be free and given in large quantities as well.
Living in the real world however the realization has come upon me that smaller collector oriented companies will be a bit steeper in price as well as higher in quality than the normal production figures.
Take into account that they are the designers from the most beloved gijoe, starwars, transformers and other lines that are behind it, I don't really mind the price. You might, but they are very much army buildable, it all depends on where you put your money and where you focus your collection.
Now if you decide to not save up and get the figures that's fine, but they are still a collectors oriented product that true enough only some collectors can put their finances in to enjoy - but that is the way of the future for action figure collecting, it won't get any cheaper. Whining about price will change nothing, which is what most people do - or throw around some ridiculous numbers that fit them without even knowing production costs, how many people work in the company or all other things surrounding getting figures produced.
