The early ones are okay if you're looking for some campy fun, but I HIGHLY recommend checking out the Trilogy that came out in the 90s (this statue is from the final movie in said trilogy). All three range from good to FANTASTIC, surpassing pretty much anything Godzilla was putting out at the time. Each movie is progressively more impressive than the one before it, and the last one STILL has probably some of the best kaiju flick effects of all time. Also, the American release of the films was just AMAZING! The DVDs and Blu-rays were packed with special features, including interviews, footage from events, music videos, and some pretty hilarious blooper reels by the dub crew. Heck, the second movie contained an entire abridged version of the flick where the dubbers improvised all their lines with silly accents, and the 3rd had a full commentary track where the dubbers pretended they were the MONSTERS COMMENTING ON THEIR OWN MOVIE. Gamera had a posh English accent. They discussed how progressive the film was for allowing a monster with tentacles to have a leading role. You can't make this stuff up. XD
