Of course they aren't the same thing. Where did I say that? The viability of a product refers to its potential success. If Mattel cancels the line, then they don't consider it viable anymore (nor would anyone else as long as Mattel retains the license). As long as they haven't canceled it, DCIH still has potential.

DCIH could still be a huge success, but it definitely needs some reworking to get it to that next level. Even Mattel has acknowledged this by attempting to introduce more articulation for the molds. Unfortunately, it's still not enough, when compared to MU.

But I firmly believe that a 1/18th-scale DC line is a great idea and that it could be successful - maybe even surpassing MU in some respects. A successful implementation to me would be, in the simplest of terms, to take MU and use DC characters instead of Marvel.

Am I being overly optimistic? Possibly. But Mattel hasn't given up on the idea yet, and we shouldn't either.

At this point, I think that is probably Mattel's best option. Hopefully, they have been able to at least break even with the amount of product they've already brought to retail. If so, it wouldn't be too hard to consider funneling more money into expanding the R&D on the GL line to include other characters beyond Hal and the Corps.

I see it working kind of like the way IM2 complements and enhances MU, but in reverse. Then just continue the new DCIH as a bridge to the next DC movie line.

But a name change might be a good idea too. I just can't think of anything that they aren't already using which would also have the same kind of impact like Infinite Heroes.
