Based on what I've seen on the site, BBTS only adds the "Comic" tag to the entries when the packaging identifies them as "Comic Series". Everything else is considered "Movie" by them.

The "Concept Series" figures are supposed to be based partially on previous movie figures - they're basically off-screen, mission-specific armors. Which makes sense if you think about it. Tony is well-known for modding his armors for specific tasks or missions (see Hulk- and Thorbuster, among others). You could even look at them as concept ideas that Tony came up with, but are only stored on J.A.R.V.I.S.

I don't even know how to categorize them with the multiple waves and scattered numbering.
If I'm not mistaken, the numbering was supposed to separate the movie/concept figures from the comic figures. Numbers 1-21 are movie/concept and 22-39 are comic. I will admit, it's sometimes confusing when the actual "wave" sometimes contains a mix of movie and comic figures instead of one or the other (and that we've all been calling them "movie wave X" or "comic wave X" instead of simply wave X.

It will also be more confusing since the SRA concept figure is #40 and more movie figures are slated for release (which will probably start with #41). If any more comic figures get announced, I don't know what numbers they'll end up with.

They order cases from Hasbro, same as any other retailer. The difference is BBTS's distribution system is far less complicated than regular retailers. Same reason you see comic shops get them sometimes before Walmart, et. al. Walmart, for example, has product shipped to a main distribution center, where it is then shipped product to regional distribution centers who then ship it to individual stores.

AFAIK, BBTS only has one distribution center that handles site orders and ships them DTC. You could always email Joel and ask him about it. Not sure if he will answer, but it couldn't hurt to try.
