^ I'm not really talking about hardcore collectors though... or those who do both the comics and toys thing. I'm talking about casual toy collectors who just buy a few stuff here and there. IMO early to mid 80's produced more casual toy collectors than any other time period because of how much kids specifically loved G.I. Joe & Transformers... and to a lesser extent Star Wars. IMO those particular brands had a crap ton of casual appeal to the broadest range of kids from every background basically. IMO that time period... how life was back then... and with these specific toys... was lightning in a bottle.
