DCIH could still be a huge success, but it definitely needs some reworking to get it to that next level. Even Mattel has acknowledged this by attempting to introduce more articulation for the molds. Unfortunately, it's still not enough, when compared to MU.

But I firmly believe that a 1/18th-scale DC line is a great idea and that it could be successful - maybe even surpassing MU in some respects. A successful implementation to me would be, in the simplest of terms, to take MU and use DC characters instead of Marvel.

Am I being overly optimistic? Possibly. But Mattel hasn't given up on the idea yet, and we shouldn't either.

At this point, I think that is probably Mattel's best option. Hopefully, they have been able to at least break even with the amount of product they've already brought to retail. If so, it wouldn't be too hard to consider funneling more money into expanding the R&D on the GL line to include other characters beyond Hal and the Corps.

I see it working kind of like the way IM2 complements and enhances MU, but in reverse. Then just continue the new DCIH as a bridge to the next DC movie line.

But a name change might be a good idea too. I just can't think of anything that they aren't already using which would also have the same kind of impact like Infinite Heroes.
What would help is better designed articulation. I actually prefer the older sculpts with basic articulation to the new ones which feel so fragile, horribly designed to make it where the arms can't even rest at their sides, and break if you touch them (I never have toys break on me. Even the most delicate ones. Yet my Major Force snapped in two after five seconds).
(But likewise, I haven't been terribly impressed with the quality of the MU, based on the three that I have)
Maybe not in sculpt and articulation they don't, but they definately need to take a few cues from MU. For a single carded figure, with DCIH you got a smaller toy, with no accessories for a bit more, than you'd pay for the average MU. Which is tripley frustraiting, given than almost all DCIH were repaints of one another. A new head, and maybe a little added on detailing, while there are more unique sculpts in MU.

Green Lantern would be a great way to experament with accessories, vehicles and such. And it would be nice to see them try something completely new with sculpt and articulation. Why just copy MU, when they could try to figure out how to surpass it?
They've made DCUC an unimaginable success where Toybiz and Hasbro have been failing with Marvel Legends for years. There's no reason (Outside of retailer idiocy, and crappy POS systems that do their ordering) that they can't make a successful 3 3/4s line.
