I'm also am wondering if Hasbro might rethink their MCU strategies going foward. I don't have sales numbers, but the eye test tells me these last few MCU inspired waves are bombing big time. Everything dating back to the first Guardians wave is just languishing on the shelf (especially the Thor stuff.) I felt that we received too many MCU figures last year...and would like to see them get back to the basics. It'll be interesting to see what is announced at Toy Fair...
I can only speak about my location and what I've seen in regards to what I am about to say. Our Walmart's, Targets, Toys R Us, and other stores are still carrying comic and movie figures from the Groot wave, Allfather, Hobgoblin, Thanos, Hulkbuster, Rhino, and Red Onslaught waves. The only two figures released since 2012 that I have not seen in mass retail are Giant Man series Black Panther, and Abomination series Scarlet Witch. Including the Man-Thing wave, Hasbro released 29 live action figures in 2017, while releasing 42 comic figures. I, along with others, were pleased with what we got and believe Hasbro took a step forward.

My title and signature say it all, I love live action figures, but I will never deny that we had to start with the comics to get where we are today, which is to a multi billion dollar film franchise with merchandise to go along with them. A lot of people don't like them and that's okay, but the general public does and Marvel Studios and Hasbro can see that, and release what they believe will sale. It's not a coincidence we saw 29 live action figures released this year.

I've said this time and time again...we are the minority. We are a very small piece in this big game. Honestly, it took me a while to see it but I get it. Even when you go to YouTube and you see a people young and old try their take at collecting, reviewing figures, and getting started in the Marvel Legends game; their entry to this is coming from the films which leads them to the film figures, which lead them to the comics. With the rumors I've been reading, it doesn't seem like Hasbro will be slowing down anytime soon with MCU Marvel Legends, and they shouldn't. Especially when you have the culmination of 10 (11 by next summer) years of hard film making resulting in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4.
