I get it's a teaser trailer. You can make a teaser trailer, and not give away plot points. But when you make a teaser trailer, that doesn't even feature a single shot really of the character you are trying to sell? It's been done before yes (Man Of Steel) but even that trailer had a shot of Superman's cape at least. I cant get pumped looking at black veins in Tom Hardy's neck though in a blink and you'll miss it moment. It's concerning.

I've seen "leaked", unfinished shots of what Venom looks like, and hopefully he is not in the trailer because they are going back to redesign it a bit, because if those images are legit, he is kind of poopy looking.

Also, how does Venom already happen when Peter has hardly been Spider-Man? Unless he acquires the symbiote during Infinity War Part 1 and brings it back to Earth by the end of the movie, I just don't see how this works.
They have done Venom's origin without Spidey before in the Ultimate comics, where the Symbiote was actually a cancer treatment that was created by Peter and Eddie's fathers, who worked together on the project. Unfortunately though, while the symbiote did cure cancer, it also made the subject prone to violence and psychosis, so they tried to shut the project down, and were eventually killed through corporate espionage when the company they were working for tried to claim it for their own. The last samples of it ended up in the hands of Curt Conners, who in turn gave it to young Eddie when he was of age. It was at that point Eddie reached out to Peter, and gave him the back story behind it.

The rumors are that Tom Holland's appearance in the film (if those turn out to be true) is because of Eddie doing some sort of investigative work which leads him back to Peter Parker in some way. It's all a crap shoot at this point because Sony is being super secretive, but the point being that the MCU has combined and changed many character origins in their films by using elements from the ultimate and 616 universes. They can do a Venom origin without Spidey if they follow the Ultimate Universe's origins. I just hope that they don't keep Spidey out of it altogether (as per the original rumors) as that idea absolutely disgusts me, and kills whatever faith I have left in the project.
