AoU may have its negatives, but Ultron himself is awesome as is Vision. Plus, it has a lot of fun moments even if the CGI is crappy. It's not even remotely the worst MCU film and it is still better than most action movies made in the last several years.
I agree with you. The only thing I don't like about Age of Ultron is how Thor's only purpose was to set up "Ragnorok" and it felt shoehorned in. I think that James Spader was an excellent choice for Ultron and I think he ranks up there with Loki, Vulture and Kilmonger as one of the better MCU villains.

I'd love to see a post credits scene that has the camera follow a disheveled looking figure in a big, thick cloak shambling down an alley. The mysterious figure goes into a doorway down a flight of stairs and through a curtain and into a small room where the Tinkerer (from Spider-Man Homecoming) is selling what's left of the recovered Chitauri tech. The Tinkerer is working on something and doesn't even look up from his what he's doing. He asks something like "What can I do for you?" and James Spader's voice replies something like "I'm looking for some upgrades" then the camera spins around to reveal an F#@%ed up Ultron Drone from the end of Age of Ultron.

Maybe Vision didn't destroy the last one after all or maybe one just slipped through the cracks somehow. Judging on how the internet has turned on AOU though. I doubt Marvel will bring him back, or at least not anytime soon.
