Any advice?
I'm not sure what options there are out there for the shoulder pads, other than taking something similar from another figure and gluing them on, unless you plan on sculpting them like you mentioned. The only female figure (Legends-wise) that had shoulder pads was the Rocket Raccoon Jean Grey, and that's not a cheap figure you'll want to chop up. Kitty Pryde has simulated shoulder pads that you might be able to work with if you're willing to sand down the parts over her chest to create separate pads on both sides.

As for cheap figures to chop up, you could always opt for the black version of the Jim Lee costume, and honestly, with that one, there's no better body to work with than the Vintage Widow. It's a good body mold with easy to change hands, and more important, it's completely devoid of paint. It's the closest thing to getting a blank slate to work with.

You could, but the molded catsuit details are gonna throw it off. Plus that body is a bit on the short side.

It works decent for a makeshift Colleen Wing.

If you want to do Storm's white costume with minimal painting, I'd actually hold out for the upcoming Dagger figure, as it's literally solid white with some flesh-tone down the chest. You could probably remove the flesh tone with acetone or alcohol, and then sand off the rest to clean it up.

When you get the claws, they are going to be the claw itself, with about an additional half an inch of resin off the back of them. They will not immediately pop in, and will take a little work. They are sturdy enough, but nowhere near that of the default plastic claws.

My advice to you is try widening the holes in the clawed hands a bit before you start sanding. This will allow you to keep a thicker post at the base of the claws, which will increase their durability. My experience with Casting Cave usually has them sending one extra claw to practice with. No matter what though...take your time with it. If you are having to use a significant amount of force to insert them, you have not done enough adjusting and you are running the risk of breaking them. There are videos up on YouTube regarding their installation, those can be of help as well.

The extra piece on the claws creating the separation are there for two reasons.

1. It makes it easier to cast, since they are very tiny pieces to work with.

2. It allows the claws to be adjusted and fitted for all of the different Wolverines we've received thus far that have removable claws.
