As a cosmic fan I read DnA's GotG back when it was new and from the conversational waters I tested it feels hard to say they were even B-list. Hell they might not even have been C-list, my friends thought I was describing some stoner level shit when I tried talking to them about it because they had no idea who these characters were or what part of the Marvel world they came from. I could talk to them about Moon Knight no problem and even Nova to an extent but apparently the GotG were just too weird. Given all of this I hold it against nobody that only became aware of the Guardians through the movies, though I wish Marvel themselves hadn't steered the books so close to the screen version.
