I loved that book and I'll admit that I'm not super pleased with how they have now made it match the movie. I hear where you're coming from regarding people not knowing them. When that movie was announced, I remember telling a friend of mine that I hope people are ready to watch a talking raccoon on screen and she responded with something about how that sounds beyond stupid. Now, she LOVES those movies. I'm not mad that she enjoys them, I'm quite happy. I'm glad people just get to be fans of things, regardless of how they were exposed to it.
