The Netflix shows just consistently refer to the battle of New York like that's the only event that ever happened, unless all of these shows are seriously just crammed into the space between Avengers 1 and 2. Agents of SHIELD is worse about it because we know they claim to keep up with the movie timelines by ham-fisting references into things but then they do stuff that should absolutely call attention and it doesn't because the movies won't reference the shows. I get that there's a huge difference in how shows and movies are made especially regarding scheduling but the strictly one-sided nature of the MCU totally wrecks that "all connected" spiel they tried spinning.

Yeah, but you have to consider the devide in “street level” heroes and the avengers. Matt Jessica and Luke are really just trying to live there lives, and occasionaly do something heroic to help there communities, where as the avengers are more or less dealing with global threats. You could use your line of logic (which isn’t wrong) to say why didn’t cap just call the avengers in winter soldier, or why didn’t tony get the gang together when the mandarin attacked him in IM3? I look at like this, Matt Murdock say, can’t just walk up to Tony Stark, and throw ideas at him just like I, in the real world, can’t just walk up to Robert Downey jr. and be like “man y’all need to to do the Kree war in avengers 5.” I did think it was a little weird in ragnorork when the girls took a selfie with Thor on the street, you think an alien god that saved the planet would get a bit more attention on the street after disappearing for 2 years...
