Yeah I've noticed this too , I think the last Mcfarlane Destiny 2 figures looked great and had pretty good articulation with out making the sculpt look bad.

They ask more out of these companies and when they get it, they bitch about something else.
I grew up with GO Joe's that's paint was terrible and marvel figs that almost looked human at best.

I love what companies are doing with figures now and won't let it not being perfect under a $20 price tag stop me from collecting. If I want it to be close to perfect I'll fork out hundreds for the premium versions
